Huay Yang waterfall located near the headquarters and Kha Aon (also called Tab Mon) waterfalls are locally famous as recreation spots. The latter is located in Bang Sapan district, about 60 km from the first.
Khao Luang mountain offers a great view point in the middle of fertile forest. The headwater of Huay Yang waterfall is close to Myanmar - Thai border. From the peak you can see the sea of Gulf of Thailand. There are bungalow rooms in the park for rent.
You can spend a day trip going to a beautiful and unspoiled village called Prachuab Khiri Khan. A scenic area nicknamed "Little Rio" because of its fantastic location with white sandy beaches and high mountains near the Burmese border. This trip is a wonderful memory to bring back home.
First we pick you up at your hotel and then we drive south about 1 hour and a half. We drive though a lush tropical landscape. By the beautiful waterfall, you will enjoy the scenery and the magnificent view, but you might prefer a refreshing swim or a walk along the waterfall peacefully for a while. We meet up before lunch and then we drive you to the small but very picturesque town of Prachuab Khiri khan. A perfect setting for our Thai set lunch.
After lunch you can do a bit of shopping at the local market. Here you will find lots of great and cheap stuff. Then our meeting point will be our private bus. We then, will drive through the open military base in Aow Manao along the stunning coastline. Here we'll get the opportunity to feed some wild leaf monkeys. Note that even though they might look as friendly and cuddly as toys, they are nevertheless wild animals and you should never try to attract or touch them, as they could be dangerous and unpredictable.ย
There is a lot placeย to experience and see in and around Huay Yang. Wannakorn nationalpark/ Koh Jarn A national park located directly to the north of the village. Koh Jarn is an island about 20 minutes by boat from Huay Yang that offers excellent snorkelling and fishing.
Huay Yang Waterfalls The Huay Yang Waterfalls are located in a national park in the mountains on the border with Burma. A multitude of different fish species, colourful butterflies, rainforest and beautiful natural scenery are the main attractions here. There are also wonderful hiking trails.
WAKO Scientic Park A "science park" with a wealth of attractions. The most popular is a large aquarium with both freshwater and saltwater species.
Dansingkhon A border post on the border with Burma where wood furniture, jewellery, plants and other products are sold daily. Saturday is the main trading day when large numbers of Burmese cross the border to sell their wares. Orchids are a favourite buy among homeowners in Huay Yang.
Ao Manao Located in Prachuap Khirikhan, Ao Manao has a fantastic lagoon that is ideal for swimming. It is also home to Huay Yangยดs closest golf course, a nine-hole course that can be played for a very low price.
Koh Talu An island about 30 km (19 miles) south of Huay Yang that offers fantastic diving and snorkelling. Visitors can book travel and accommodation as a single package.
Thap Sakae A really genuine Thai town about 10 km (6 miles) south of Huay Yang. Visiting local markets and shops, generally as the sole Westerner, is an experience.
Prachuap Khirikhan The town of the same name as the region. An exceptionally beautiful town with a shoreline consisting of three bays, of which the central one is right in the centre of town and has a nice waterfront promenade. There is a wide choice of restaurants and shops. The town also has a temple mount with monkeys and stairs leading up for those wanting to test their legs. The reward is a breathtaking view.
The odd Western tourist is now starting to find his way to Prachuap Khirikhan and will doubtless be followed by many more in coming years. ย
