Is December a good time to visit Phuket ? Would it be very packed ? And how is the weather like in December?

I think November until March is the most comfortable times to visit, when the average high temperatures are in the mid 70.

The best time to visit is during the cool season from November-February. Statistically, these months tend to have the most hours of sunshine and the least likelihood of rain. Humidity is also lower at this time of year than at other times. Because of the good weather and the fact that it corresponds with winter in the West, these months form the tourist high season.

Weather-wise, December is a great time to go, but prices are also highest at this time because it is the busiest time of year. And yes, it gets crowded. So, it really depends on what your priorities are.

The best time to visit Phuket is throughout "High Season" when it is not so humid like November to March and the average temperature is around 24ºC to 32ºC.
September and October has the worst weather with days without sun and frequent showers.

The best time to visit Phuket is during the cool NE monsoon season, from December through March (See photo Galleries December and January in Phuket), when it isn't so humid, and the cool breezes keep things comfortable. The average temperature is around 75F to 89F (24C to 32C). Note that lately, as almost everywhere in the world, weather is unpredictable.
