The real story goes like this:

As we all know prostitution is illegal, yet rampant.  So, when the police feel the need to go out and police, they look for offenders.  Instead of targeting the girls, whom they know will be set free and continue, they sometimes goes after the hotel owner.  You know this story?

So, they send a fake prostitute with some guy to the hotel and ask for a room.  By law they were suppose to give some indication of it being prostitution in the room, not just lovers having fun.  Our desk clerk tells us she heard nothing from them, and thought they were regular customers.  Then, they write up a ticket, hand it to the desk clerk, tell her she broke the law, and threaten that the hotel could loose it's license.

Hotel owners go to a hearing with the government officials, and just get a slap on the wrist (that is an expression meaning a small penalty).

Where did this take place?  Patpong?  Pattaya?  Nope.  You are totally off.

Police said they initially responded to the hotel room around 11 p.m. Friday to investigate a complaint about uncooperative guests. When police entered the room, they said one officer was overcome by unknown chemical vapors. Emergency crews took him to Florida Hospital Zephyrhills for treatment. He was later released. Police evacuated the hotel and said the vapors came from an active methamphetamine laboratory in the hotel.

Once the room was cleared, guests could return to their rooms.
