Well, I also like Chiang Rai. There's also many intersting places to go there, especially the natural and adventurous ones.
My mom loves a temple trip. She always goes to Chiang Rai for it Wink

Hi friend

Last week I visit Khoang Jeam. It's great.

Everyday eat Kung fish, the fish that just only from Khong river.

Resort I stayed name Areeya Resort located beside Moon rever.

Someone who like quiet and private you shall visit north and north east
for this winter. Right now weather so great not so hot not so cool.

Have a nice trip for you all.

I will be in Pattaya this Xmas, 2009 I have already booked because I know it will be busy and I am here now (April 2009 ) so makes life easier to know I am booked in, especially when you find a room which is nice and comfortable in a well run guesthouse.

Don't you think to change to Chaing Rai to avoid crowded.

I agree that Chiang Rai is a very nice place to travel with less touristy compared to Chiang Mai. I also like a nice atmosphere and green scenery of Chiang Rai. However, I think there's a lot more to do in Chiang Mai and things are closer together.. Still, it depends on your travel style. For those who come to Thailand for the first time might want to go places that a bit for tourists, while others who have been to Thailand more than one time prefer places that out-the-beaten track.

It is because Thailand is situated in the tropical zone, the temperature is rather high throughout the year. Even in the winter season, from December to February, the average temperature is over 20oC. However, on occasion the weather turns unusually cold under the influence of a cold mass of air from China and Mongolia. The overnight temperature in the North and the Northeast may fall to less than 10oC.  But for sure you can still enjoy while in  vacation.

I personally enjoy Chiang Rai more than Chiang Mai.  I find it more beautiful and laid back.
