PS3 - Bulky or Slim?

So, I decided to add another family member 'cos the Xbox and the Wii are feeling lonely. What are the differences between the regular PS3 and the PS3 slim aside from their measurements. Naturally, I'd prefer the slim, but I wanted to check back with you PS3 owners if there are any quirks to the slim that should have me change my mind. Thanks in advance!
